Structural changes (WEG) must be formally resolved
Structural alterations (WEG) – In the case of condominium owners’ associations, a structural alteration refers to certain construction measures and is to be assumed if it fulfils the following four points. It counts as a structural change if a construction measure is designed to be permanent, it is carried out after the condominium has come into existence, it leads to a transformation of the common property and it goes beyond the proper maintenance of the common property. It therefore goes beyond the mere maintenance or modernisation of the common property. Every structural change requires a formal resolution in the owners’ meeting.
