Central Vista in New Delhi: XXL construction project
The capital was still designed under colonial times. Next to the old Delhi, a completely new government district was to be built. The new building was also inspired by European structures, including the “Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile” on the Avenue des Champs Élysées, in Paris. A similar arch can also be found in the Central Vista, New Delhi.
By the way, the Central Vista itself was inspired from the USA. More precisely, the National Mall (Washington, D.C.). A 3.5 kilometer long street with the Capitol at the end. The destination of the street is the center of political power. All streets run star-shaped on this area.
Now everything is being redesigned, including the parliament. From above, it resembles a ship’s propeller, three elements surrounded by a round circle. Learn more, in this new video.
